  • This summer we will have a new home

in a new state that gets tornadoes. Oh my what an adventure that will be.

So Eddie has had a great Christmas so far. One more to go this weekend with DH’s family. Oh what will that bring? He has gotten really big and is so into cars, trucks and trains now it isn’t even funny. He got lots of cars from the CA grandparents and well some from mom and dad when we got home. Our little pretzel barrel for Cars is now overflowing. Just means we need to get a second barrel or get a bigger one. We went to a really cool Christmas light display while out in California. They had a little train ride going around one part of the field. Eddie loved it so much we went on it twice that night. So cool and we are glad we went. Might become an annual thing depending on what time of year we go out there for the holidays. With the move we will not really be in driving distance of either family so it could get pricey.

Hope the New year is what everyone wants so far.

  • Santa time

So we took little man to see Santa yesterday. Hubby wasn’t really happy that DS wasn’t a crying screaming mess, but he also didn’t really want to sit on Santa’s lap either. But we were able to get him up there and get a few good shots. No smiles but no tears either. So I guess all in all it is a good year again.

    Last year:

    2008 12 06 003

    This year:

    2009 12 05 001

We were the 4th people in line when Santa opened. So nice to not have huge crowds around and stuff to make the little one nervous. He had time to high five Santa before getting his picture taken and sit and stare at him for a little bit before also. So I think that helped with the no crying effect. But who knows. Then after that we wandered the mall a little bit. When we got to the mall it was only raining with a little slushyness. When we were done at the mall and going to the car it was a full on snow. Eddie wasn’t really thrilled with that at all. He was scared of the stuff falling down. Having never really seen it before I can understand that. So he was a little freaked out. He does okay with rain and all cause well that happens all the time. But this stuff was big and cold and wet and sticking to him. So you can see the delema in a 20 month olds mind right? Oh well got to go eat lunch and all was well. Then we came home and had naps before playtime. Fun weekend here. Today it is supposed to be sunny so all the snow (not that we got much) will be gone.

  • Then and Now

So DS has some monkey’s that he has had since day one just about. Well when he was about a month old we took a picture with him and his two monkies.

    sitting with the monkeys

See he is inbetween the 2 monkey’s. Not that big, his feet are just bigger than the little monkey. Well Saturday we decided after his bath to take the same picture again.

a boy and his 2 monkeys

See the differnce. Much bigger than the monkey’s now. It just amazes us how much he has changed in the last 19.5 months. He is so growing up.

Busy around here. He is always into something and doesn’t give us much peace at times. His newest thing is to scream when he doesn’t get his way. Which is often. It is great fun. Hasn’t done it while we are out yet. But I know that day will come.

  • Here is Elmo!!

    Elmo is here!!Pumpkin kittyScary pumpkin

So as you can see Eddie will be Elmo this year. My mom made the costume so we made sure this past weekend that someone liked it and well he does. Also did our pumpkins as well. He posed with them on the back porch as to not get all muddied up in the front yard.

    Enjoy!

  • new pictures of my almost 19 month old

So we had pictures taken at the beginning of the month cause well little boy was 18 months old and we needed a new family photo since the old one was well old. The last family photo was taken in May right after he was born. They turned out great and I love them!!

Nothing new around here. Still growing like a weed and well learns more and more every day. Our sweet easy boy is growing an attitude and is learning very fast that the world doesn’t revolve around him and that if he feels the need to throw a fit well go right ahead and throw it cause we don’t care! So here are some pictures. The one with the finger on the nose is my favorite.

  • So I have a new baby now

Wait what was that she typed????????????????????????

    A new baby?????????????????????

Didn’t even know she was having another one. Why doesn’t she post more???????????? People need to know these things.

HA got you all. We took Eddie the other night for his first ever hair cut. There was happiness, a little freaking out and a ton of screaming and crying all by the little boy. Momma didn’t cry much at all and what crying I did was only in the car and only a bit on the way to dinner sitting in traffic. So he has no more curls in the back and well a whole lot less hair than he did the other morning. The lady who cut it took off a bit more than we wanted but that is what happens when you have a screaming crying 18 month old sitting on daddy’s lap getting his haircut. All is well and the new do is growing on us all. No more running your fingers thru his nice soft hair as there is no nice soft hair anymore. It is short and well not as soft. I sure hope it grows back quickly.

See what I mean about short? yeah its like he has no hair anymore.

Other than that we spend lots of time outdoors as the weather has cooled and it is comfortable to play outside. We go to the park down the street every more that we don’t have errands to run and then after naptime play around the house till daddy comes home. Happy October everyone!!

  • It is really weird

To go out to dinner without your child. Why do I say this you ask. Well cause my parents are visiting and well we got to go out to dinner and shopping without Eddie tonight. Dinner was nice. no interruptions from small boys, highchairs or kids menu’s. Ate in peace with out any interruptions. Then we went to toys r us and got the nephews birthday present. After that was when the not so fun started. Got out to the truck and it wouldn’t start. Yup so we are stuck out in town without the truck. Luckily we kept trying and it got started. Hubby thinks it was because the wires on the battery weren’t tight. Let’s hope that is what it was. Got home and it was little mans bedtime. Yippee.

He is 18 months today and well growing like a weed still. Has so much fun outside. Now if the weather would cooperate and stay cool he could play outside for a long time. We go out after breakfast for a while and then again after naptime till daddy gets home. Sometimes we even go out after dinner.

All righty off to sleepy time for me. Had to watch Criminal Minds and as much as I would like to stay up and watch CSI:NY that will have to wait till tomorrow.

  • Once again a long time inbetween

So once again I have been absent for a bit. A walking, learning to talk little boy keeps me busy. Tons of teeth and running all over the place. Starting to say more words every day. His favorite thing at 17 months is brushing his teeth and watching Elmo. Or EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE as he likes to screech. So can you say tons of Elmo shit is in this house. But he is a great little boy. Getting so big. Taller than other kids his age. Not that there are many around here. Just one and they have fun when they get together. Loves animals. We have found some parks/zoos/farms to take him to on occasion. He loves to pet the animals. Well his idea of petting. You know the slamming of hands down on the back/side/head of whatever animal is closest. We are working on this. He also loves to throw anything that he isn’t supposed to at anything he isn’t supposed to. Working on that as well.

Here are just a few recent shots of the boy. I am amazed more and more each day with him. The ones with the animals are from the reston zoo and frying pan farm park. The one with the monkey is from the living room. It gets harder and harder to get shots of him. He doesn’t really stand still any longer. But sometimes we can get a good shot.

Hope everyone is well and well see you soon!

  • So signing to Eddie has paid off

Yes that is right he is finally doing some of the signs back to us. Of course they don’t look like what we are doing to him but hey as long as we know what he means and it is close that counts. He is so much fun to watch. When we ask him if he wants milk (opening and closing your hand) he will do it back at us and run to the gate at the kitchen doorway. At dinner we ask him if he wants more (touching fingertips of both hands) he will nod and slap a fist against his hand. Even his vocabulary is getting better. He has all kinds of words and sneaks new ones in all the time. This morning while standing on his slide he said slide. So of course I moved it out for him. He has also started to climb on more things. He hasn’t tried climbing out of his bed yet (thank goodness) But then again there is nothing for him to hook his feet on. But he loves to climb up on the couches and coffee table downstairs. He has even figured out that step stools make it easier to reach things. Yes those have all gone into hiding now. He loves to sit on his sit and spin zebra and bounce up and down. He even climbs up on his motorcycle rocking horse but isn’t quite tall enough for that yet. Oh well. Eats everything he is given and is generally still a good little boy. But we can tell when he is hungry or tired cause he starts acting up.

Hope everyone has great plans for the summer. We don’t have many other than a trip to Indiana and then Kentucky on the way home but who knows what the summer will bring.

  • 12 teeth and walking now. Man time is flying by. Well he is walking but still in that falling down stage alot. But he is getting better at it each day. His favorite thing right now is walking. We went to a minor league ball game on Saturday night and he loved walking around the out field and chasing after the dogs that were at the game. It was bark at the park night and well his favorite thing is dogs. He had a blast and we had so much fun watching him.

Mother’s day was good. Well except for one comment from DH’s dad. But I will chalk it up to him having to much to drink. No surprise there. At every party all they do is sit around and drink and talk. Yeah really fun for me. NOT!! And we get to go and do this all over again for Father’s day but at a park and with more people. Oh joy lots of chasing after Eddie for me.

Life is going well. As the boy gets old we find less time for computers and more for chasing after Eddie. Hope all is well with everyone out there.
