So time is flying by for us. Last time I was here we had just gotten here and were looking for a place to live. Well in the short time we stayed (a long weekend) we found a place!!! It is a nice 3 bedroom split level house. We have great landlords and are loving it. Eddie is doing so great. He is 18 pounds 8 ounces. Has rolled over just once but is starting to scoot around at times. Haven't been able to catch him on video doing that yet. But hopefully I will soon.

Getting used to our new home. Those access roads they have here are strange but do come in handy at times. They aren't every where but are in some of the heavy traffic areas. The exchange and commissary here are way different than the ones on the rock. Less stuff and less selection. But hey it is all right cause we have more choices in places to go. Our house is right next to a wooded area and we have had visitors of the 4 legged type to our backyard. Yup that is right we have had deer come and visit us in our yard. One of the great things about here is we have found a Chinese buffett that is what we are used to. After 3 years in Hawaii without a good buffett this is great for us. We have also found many a good Chinese takeout place really close to our house. Thank goodness for this. We have been collecting takeout menus from places around here. It is nice. I can call DH at work and tell him where to stop on his way home and then call it in when he is within 15 minutes of there and we have hot food without the cost of tips and alchol added to it. Plus Eddie is in the bigger carseat but isn't quite sitting up without help so he doesn't really do well in those resturant high chairs yet. But trust me we don't miss that kind of stuff at all.

Wow what a long time since I have been here. Having a small child changes your life in so many ways. Well since I have been on last we have moved from the Island of Oahu to the Northern Virgina area. Just got into town yesterday. Not settled by any stretch of the mind. Today and tomorrow are house hunting days before we go to DH's parents for the 4th of July and baptism the boy and well just visit. That should be grueling on all of us. They are all ready fighting over who holds him first. As my SIL said to me yesterday "you have held him for 3 months it is my turn now." Uh I am his mom and well I will have him when I want to. I just want to see them try and stop me from holding my baby at any time. DH is all ready voting hands down on me. I am up for my baby meeting new people but it will be on my terms not theirs. When SIL had her two children I wasn't a hog and had to be the only person holding them. Nope I met them, held them for a bit and then well turned them over to other people. It should be interesting.

So far our first look at the newest place we will be living is a good one. We both will have to get used to traffic here. Everyone is in a hurry to get nowhere it seems. The roads are a bit strange. They seem to have a frontage type road in front of businesses that is separated from the main road by concrete and dirt in places. At the intersections they have stop signs and then the traffic lights for the main road. So it should be really interesting.

Yeah the inlaws are gone!!! Yup that means that all the family is done visiting and well we can be a nice calm little family of 3 without interruption for a while again. Now to tackle our furniture shipment and survive that. After that will be living on loaner furniture and getting ready for the flight off the rock and then the drive across country.

Eddie is still growing like a weed. Eating 6ozs at a time and well sleeping 8-9 hours at night. So nice!!! Have a a check up this week so we will know just how big our little baby is. Out growing all his 3 months sleepers. But have no fear cause the 6 month ones are awaiting him to move into them.

We are just happy that the eating more than 4ozs in a feeding happened now instead of 2 weeks from now when all of our stuff was gone. This way the 4oz bottles can be packed away and we will just be using the 6oz ones. Yeah!!! I was so afraid that he was going to be switching when we were packed out and the bottles that we had were all ready shipped. That would have sucked big time.

Visit with DH's parents went okay. Just glad that they are gone cause his mom can be very interesting. Yeah that is the word I will use. More later cause it is time for showers and getting ready for church.

Wow I am one of those people now. Little computer time and well even less blog time.

Eddie is doing so well. Sleeping thru the night (that just started) and well growing like a weed. He has only outgrown 2 outfits without ever wearing them so far and well I blame that on my doctors. If I hadn't been rushed in getting stuff washed and such maybe they wouldn't have been lost in a pile of bigger things and ever been seen. They were really cute to. Oh well life goes on. He is still a good baby. Last night he wouldn't go to sleep just layed there and stared at me with a look that said okay what do I do now? No picture cause it was bed time and we were upstairs.

Starting to get ready for our move back to the mainland. So cannot wait for the day that we leave this place. Yes it is paradise but living here is sometimes not paradise. Oh well. On to bigger and better things. Like getting a brand new car when we get there. Hubby has all ready talked to the car dealer at Subaru when so he knows exactly what we want. Now all we have to do is call him when we are 3 weeks out and it will be waiting for us when we get there!!!! Oh yeah!!!!!! 2009 Subaru Forester in blue is going to be all mine!!! So love it.

Other than that nothing really exciting going on here. My parents came and visited. My mom drove me nuts but at least they got to spend some time with their grandson. Can I say never again will I let a visit be longer than a week. My mom "helped" me out. Just as much as my dad "helps" her at home. Yeah not much. So I was tired and cranky for a bit. But since she watched him while we went and shopped for a new car it was all good. The next set of visitors will be DH's parents. But we don't know when they are arriving cause they have yet to share their flight times with us. Oh well when they get to the airport and get mad cause we aren't there tough!

So here it is 2:30am my time and yup I am awake. Have been since 12:15am when young Eddie woke for a feeding. Got him feed and went back to bed where I layed and couldn't fall asleep. So downstairs I came to pump some milk and now I am still awake. Have no idea why I am still up. Could it possibly be because I have people coming, am trying to get ready for a huge move and we are now buying a new car as soon as we hit the mainland soil again? Oh boy lots of stress and a baby to take care of. I see a lot of not leaving my house today. Oh joy.

Eddie is doing well. Had his test to see if pee was going from his bladder to his kidneys. It is not. YEAH!!!! Now we are waiting for the doctor to tell us it is okay for him to stop taking the antibotic he is on. I get to call and leave her a message today for that cause she hasn't called us about it yet. So hopefully I can have a wakeful period where I remember to do this like first thing in the morning. Gave him a bath last night after dinner. Went much better. Hubby didn't add the soap to the water and we did a much better job of washing him than the first time we gave him a bath at home. So as time goes on we are getting better at this baby thing. Now if only the mommy could get some sleep. If only the mommy didn't have so much that needs to get done in a short period of time. Hopefully having my mom here starting on Sunday things will get easier for me. I might get some things accomplished during the day with her here. Keep your fingers crossed on that one.

Here is a new picture for all of you. He has learned how to suck his thumb. He doesn't do it all the time in fact in this picture it is like the second time he did it. But hey we managed to get it in a picture. He is also starting to hold his head up when he is awake and not totally tired out. So he is changing a little bit each day. But I am just enjoying it and if someone else is home with me catching the cool things in pictures.

So we are doing good here. Last night eddie threw up for the first time. Oh my was that an experience. Let's just say it was a good thing that I was holding him at the time instead of DH. Breast milk and his antibotics everywhere on me. At least none of it got on my recliner. Just my pajamas. Hubby has such a thing about him peeing or anything. Tried to give him a bath after the vomit time couldn't wash him very well cause DH kept getting his hand in the way blocking the little guys penis. I swear I want to smack him sometimes. He I tell him to not add the soap to the water cause it isn't getting soap onto baby to wash him so what does he do. Yup adds the soap to the water. Eddie is to young to totally get the bubble bath thing. So stop freakin adding the soap to the bath water. It will be more productive putting it on the washcloth and getting it on the baby that way. But hey what do I know.

Other than that all is going well. Did 4 loads of laundry today. I swear I hate moving time. 2 of those loads were stuff hubby brought home from the ship. They smell like boat and well if they are going to get packed I would rather them get packed not smelling like fuel and whatever else is floating around and sticking to things on the ship. Oh well its only laundry right?

Edward Ward IV arrived by c-section on Monday March 24,2008. After a long painful easter weekend the doctors final decided to take him out by the cutting way. He weighs in at 8lbs 4ozs and is 20" long. All is good. He is doing great. DH and I are adjusting to the new way of life for our little house. Got released for all of one day from the hospital. Then got an infection in my cut area and went back into the hospital for another 4 days. But that was taken care of and we are home and getting adjusted to life.

We really need to take some more pictures of his cuteness. But no worries we will get around to that. One step at a time. Hospital stay before he came was okay. Didn't get as bored as the time in January cause I had stuff to do and stayed as busy as possible in my little room. Hubby was with me as much as his job allowed. But once we were taken upstairs to start the labor process hubby never left me except for food and phone calls. He has been great. Now comes the thinking of what to get him for father's day. It has to be just right. Oh my what to do.

On Saturday I get to go back into the hospital. Not fun, not fun at all I say. It would be better if they had internet in the rooms but it is old and military so that is going to happen when life ends. I think I am lucky to have a tv and a window in this place. Let's hope I don't have to share my room with anyone. Oh well at least this time I get to pack for myself and not depend on other people to bring me stuff to start with like the first time. Then it will just be DH running clothes and such back and forth. I will be there till the baby comes. Sure hope I have everything I need for him. Pretty sure I have most of what I need and if I don't have it well DH will be getting it while I am in the hospital or shortly after baby and I come home.

We plan on exploring the hospital. There is supposed to be a library somewhere in that building and it is rumored that there are computers with email there but you all know about rumors. So we shall see.

You all behave now and I will post pictures and the like when I get back.

Busy day today.

First run to Costco cause well haven't been since December and need a few things. Plus they have their coupon book out and well there are a few things in there that we need as well. Then home to put it all away and finish up last minute cleaning before my sister and her friend arrive. Then off to the airport to pick them up. That should be fun. I know the last time my sister flew anywhere she was 17 and just graduated from high school. Not sure about her friend. IF they don't get lost in LAX (which they should be on their plane all ready) they won't get lost in the airport here. But then again who knows. After collecting them and their luggage (about 3 pieces each including carry ons) and bringing them home it is time for the final baby shower. Should be interesting. The hostess isn't having much in the way of munchies besides the cake and some chocolate covered nuts. Shower is at 3:30pm. Oh well she is throwing the party what is a person to do. So must make sure the girls aren't hungry before we go over. Then after the shower I have no idea what we are going to be doing. We will be having dinner of some sort but again not sure if I am going to be making something here at home or if we are going to start their vacation with dinner out. Then it will be sit down and plan the week. That should be fun. Hahahaha What they want to see/do planned around the appointments of mine. Oh well at least I only have 2 days with appointments and well hubby will be taking time off for those so it should be smooth sailing. Hahahaha

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start. As you can tell mine is busy but hey it happens. After this week I will have lots of baby laundry awaiting me. Joy. I am up to clothes at this point and well I have a printer sized box that is over flowing right now. But have no color catcher sheets so have to get those before I do the laundry. Maybe I will find some at Costco. If not I know I will be going to the commissary in the close future for snacks and such for the girls so hopefully I will remember them then.

So the "surprise" shower was this past weekend. We are the proud owners of stuff for the baby that we will see when we move in the summer. Oh joy. But I wasn't excited enough about this stuff on the phone Sunday morning. All I got was a list typed in all captials that had descripitions like "outfit" "blue blanket" and other fun generic listings. So hopefully when the pictures of these items arrive I will be more excited. But man it would be even more exciting had I been there and gotten to be the one to open the stuff and touch it and see it and handle it and well take it home to touch and feel and all that even more. Big step of the baby shower missed out on there. Oh well I have my shower here this weekend to look forward to. At least I will get to open the gifts and touch and feel and take it all home with me from that one. For the other shower though now is the time to decide what we want them to return so that we can rebuy it out here to have when baby is new and needs it. Some things we aren't going to worry about till later like the highchair, booster seat (which we have 2 different ones), the swing, diaper pail and other such stuff. We have decided to make do without a diaper pail here as he is going to have diapers for a while so why not just have it when we get there. Yup all ready started saving the plastic bags for those fun things.

My sister comes on Saturday. Yes that is right she is flying in the morning of the baby shower here. Figured that way it was over and done with and she and her friend can enjoy the week of their vacation without worring about that. It should be fun. I guess my mom has packed a suitcase full of stuff for the baby and is sending it with her. She says the suitcase is packed to exploding so I shouldn't be anywhere near it when opened. Mind you she als osaid that about the christmas box that they sent out but it wasn't as full to me as she said it to be. What ever. Then the major washing of stuff will begin after my sister leaves. I have started washing blankets and putting those away. This child will not need a blanket for a million years. Yes I have a ton of those. Oh well just means he will always have something fresh and clean to lay on. We need to get him a hamper for his clothes. I see laundry every day in my future. Hey it is all good. Every mother does it so why not me.

Now if I could just sleep thru the night that would be awesome. Right now I am lucky if  I get 5 hours straight before I wake up to pee and then can't go back to sleep. Oh well. DH looked at me yesterday and said you look tired. DUH I am tired. I tried to take a nap and failed at that one. I laid on the couch with my eyes closed and slept for a little bit but it wasn't that good fall asleep that I have gotten in the past. It was more of an okay I am sleeping but not sleeping sleep that lasted maybe 30 minutes. Oh well. I think I might have to start napping upstairs in my real bed. Maybe I will nap longer if I do that. We shall see.
