  • Time again left me

So time once again left me. I said I would get back later and post pictures. Well it is now later. Funny how that works. Had parents visiting for Eddie's first birthday and then as soon as we put them on the plane we left for NJ for a birthday party at the inlaws. All is done now. He got new toys and clothes. But not a lot of either one which is a good thing. Now to figure out where to put them all and what to take away. I know of some stuff that he really doesn't play with anymore so I am just going to make that little bit of stuff go away. I don't get how people can have a million toys for their kids. We still have stuff from Christmas that is in the packages cause he got so much stuff from the NJ grandparents. I feel bad but a child can only play with so many toys. Oh well life goes on right? Toys for tots will be getting some stuff next year that hasn't been used at all. Pictures:

He did great at his party. Had a little nap before everyone got there which was wanted  I wanted. Not his normal nap but about an hour and 15 minutes of nap. Then he hung out with everyone and had a good time. Wanted some milk about half way thru and then after we did presents and sang happy birthday he wasn't really interested in his cupcake but did finish his milk and then as you see took a little snooze with his cupcake. Woke up from his siesta and had some food and more play time. It was a good time all around. Next year will be different I am sure. Now my little baby is getting ready to walk. Such a big man.

  • My baby isn't really a baby anymore.

My little Eddie turned one yesterday. We had a fun day of hanging out at home. But I think he needed a break after 4 straight days of sightseeing with grandpa and grandma. So we stayed home and made birthday cake and just relaxed. Today grandma and grandpa are off seeing some stuff all on their own. Eddie and I are extending our much needed break (me from the parents, him from being trapped in a stroller or backpack) This weekend is the birthday party with DH's family. Oh my that should be a big train wreck. Yup lots going on a baby shower the day before and then Eddie's party. But then all the birthday will be done for the year. Still not walking but he is starting to push his walker toy around. I think he is waiting for the right time to let go. Not sure when that will be. Maybe after we buy a gate to close off the kitchen. Or even better the day after my parents leave. Oh well they got the feel his 8th tooth before any other family people and be here for his actually birthday. I will be back later with pictures. Little man just woke up from his nap.

  • where does the time go and how do I get some credited to my account?

Wow I haven't been here as much as before this little boy came along. I suck!! Oh well there is only so much nap time in a day and well man does it fill up fast.

Since the last time I was here he has graduated to 7 teeth and eating normal people food. He loves his food and well loves to feed himself. People think we are weird with what we feed him but hey he eats it. We were at DH's families house a couple of weekends ago and Eddie had veal marsala. Yes that is right veal marsala with mushrooms and italian sausage and pasta. He loved it. Then after we got back from that weekend of hell, we had prosicutto tortellini. He is not a fan of the prosicutto but loved the tortellini. He eats just about everything we put in front of him and if it is to tough for him he lets us know right away. He loves waffles and pancakes. So of course every weekend mommy makes either pancakes or waffles. None of those frozen things for him. Cause I am sorry MIL and FIl but they are not cheaper than making them from pancake mix. Plus they have extra crap in them when buying them frozen. They are so special sometimes.

Eddie is 11 months old now and we are planning his pirate party. Next month grandma and grandpa from California are coming for a visit over his birthday and we are getting 1 year pictures taken right before they come. Then the day they leave we are driving to crazy town for his party. That should be interesting. He is crawling like a mad man and pulling himself up and walking along the furniture. Not sure when he will start walking but he will do it and then run away.

Loves Sesame Street and Elmo. Even loves "reading" books. He is just so fun to watch and play with. Always trying to figure stuff out and just so happy all the time. Now if mommy could just get a little balance in her life that would be better. Balance is a work in progress and well more work than fun for me. I am getting better at housework when he is awake. Try and use naptime for me time but that doesn't always work either.

Here is my little man on his 11 month birthday:

He looks a little stoned in that picture but he is so on the move nowadays that it is harder to get a still shot. This one is from january. We went to crazy town for his Great Grandpa's 80th birthday party and had photos taken with his cousins. This is our favorite out of all of them. It shows the true spirit of our little man.

Hope all is well with everyone out there. Maybe I will get better at balance and show up more here.

  • And then there were 4

Teeth that is. Yup the little booger snuck another tooth into his mouth on us. Not sure when it came thru but it was there as of Saturday. So probably sometime on Thursday or Friday. We thought that the next tooth would be the other top front tooth as he has the upper right one. But nope it was the one next to the right one on the right side. Really odd huh? But hey no biggie there. A tooth is a tooth.

Today we bought him a baby backpack carrier. Well it is more for dad but hey he will be the one riding in it. Really neat and he seems to like it. Tomorrow will be the big test. Going to IKEA and well a backpack will make for easier navigation there than a stroller at times. Then the boy and I are heading out of town for a party. Dad will join us on Friday night.

    Have a great week!

  • Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. Eddie got lots of new toys for christmas and is currently attempting to figure them all out. He also figured out crawling on the 23rd. He has a fast "run away" crawl and a slow I'll get there someday crawl. It is so cool to watch. He also is pulling up on the furniture now. No walking or anything when he pulls up. Just pulls up and stands there. Laughs and hits at whatever he has pulled up on. It is so fun to watch him do new things all the time.

It will be so fun to watch all the new stuff he does this year. When will he start to walk? Feed himself? Drink from a cup? Hold a bottle by his self? Not that I want him to grow up to fast but just wondering when he will do it all. When will he get his 4th tooth and then the rest? What will his favorite food be? What about his favorite color? Book? What will his first real word be? he does the baby jibberish right now. He knows dada, mama, baba, and well other sounds as well but what will the first word be when he finally does say it. Will he be a fast learner or a slow one? Will he be right handed or left handed? It is going to be a year of fun and exciting adventures.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Isn't that a great shot? As you can see our first visit with the big guy went well. At first there was a little bit of what are we doing mommy? But he sat still and didn't cry. Even looked at him. Touched the beard and well was all around cute. Thanksgiving was well. We went out to visit the west coast grandparents for the Holiday. The plane ride out was good. Not to crowded and we even got a seat for Eddie. He flew as a lap baby and well on the way out it was great. On the way back not so much. Full plane packed in like cattle and well no seat for Eddie. So no room to stretch out so he was a little cranky. But he did great with the family and time change. Now we are just getting back to normal for a little bit. We shall see how Christmas goes with the east coast side of the family.

Hope all is well with everyone out there. We are still learning this parenting thing one day at a time.

  • Our Little Pirate

So here is our little pirate. Doesn't he look so happy to 1) be outside and 2) be dressed up like this? Well he really did like his costume. You just can't tell it so much in the pictures. Dad did the carving of the bat pumpkin. He was afraid to try the pirate ship one but as you can see our little pirate had a ship anyways. No trick or treating this year for the little guy. Next year yes. We had a small helping of kids here under 10 that got candy and about 5 that didn't cause hubby didn't hear 1) the doorbell and 2) me calling him up from the entertain portion of the house where he was working out. I was feeding the pirate and well it is not good to take away the food when feeding cause he gets made. So we have lots of extra. In fact I may be saving the unopened extra for next year. I know that sounds bad but hey I'm cheap and candy isn't. Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!

  • So big

    scan0003

We went and had professional pictures taken today. Here is my little 7 month old. This is our favorite picture out of the bunch. He just looks like he is having so much fun. He is actually kneeling in the box. We also got some good ones of him on his stomach and sitting up. Doctor's on Wednesday and then we will know just how big he really is. Growing like a weed and surprising us with baby talk and all kinds of things every day. Hope all is well with everyone out there.

Here he is at 6 months. So big!!! The weather here is getting cooler. Means long pants and such in our near future. He has 2 teeth now as well. Got the first one on his 6 month birthday and the 2nd one a week later. Both in the front on the bottom. Still as happy as ever as you can see from the picture.

We are slowly settling in here in our new home. Getting used to the area and finding our way around. It is so nice to have places to be able to go to without running out of land to travel on or going in a big circle. Now we are adjusting to having mommy time as well as baby and mommy time. It is a fine line to walk and well somedays it goes well and others not so much. Scary but fun adventure.

Our lives haven't really changed all that much in the past 6 months. The big difference is the addition of baby stuff all over the place. But we still go out and do things like we used to. He just comes along and well sometimes slows us down and makes us stop and enjoy the moment much more. To tell the truth I don't really miss going to the mall by myself all that much or not going out to the movies whenever. Not that there all that many great ones out right now. In fact it makes us sit and watch some that we own for movie night instead. Cheaper as well. We still go out to eat once in a while as well. We try and be really mindful of others around us but he is really good out in public unless he is tired and cranky.

He is really getting into his new adventure in food as well. So far only one veggie has not agree with him. That is carrots. So we took it off the menu and will try again later with it. But sweet potatoes, green beans and peas are all good to go. Hope all is well with your worlds!

Here is my boy at 5 months. He loves this giraffe now. 19lbs and 25 inches long. Eating cereal now. Loves it. I think he is going to be a foodie! Yeah that is my new word. He is rolling over from back to front but not front to back yet. Almost but not quite.

This is another one of his favorite things. Holding his toes. It doesn't matter where he is he wants those toes. Laughing and drooling up a storm but he does have a grip.
