So why is it that when I think that I am sleeping really good I roll over and that is all done? Went to sleep nicely at 11ish last night. Wake up at 4am cause I am hot and feel the need to drink like 5 gallons of something cool. Try and ignore the drinking feeling and go back to sleep of course that fails. So here I am awake and have drank my cool drink. Well now I am cold cause the ac kicked on finally. GGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrr I am going to blame this on modern technology. Stupid people on hubby's stupid boat can't figure out how to fix the link up to get the email working so not only can they not receive any email but they can't send anything and well neither can we. Hello you have been underway for 2 and a half weeks. Almost a full week of that has been without communication with your families. What the hell did you break this time?

I swear that this boat is the worst in the fleet for them right now. When do we leave? Oh yeah not till after the baby comes. Plus he will probably have to go to the yards with this ship and leave me here all by myself with a newborn. Oh joy.

See this is what happens at 4am when you have no email and can't sleep. Oh well. I know I will probably fall asleep about 7am only to have the stupid dogs next door start barking at every stupid kid who has to walk thru the yard to get down the hill to the gate to go to school. Well that is if they even have school today. More than likely they have all ready started their month of Winter break. Yup that is right the schools out here get out before Christmas and don't go back till the end of January. No they aren't year round schools either. They just take enormous breaks like that for the heck of it. I swear the kids here are out of school longer than they are in school. So glad that my child won't be attending school here at all.

All righty I am off to eat mashed potatoes and ham then hope that I can go back to sleep for a couple of hours more.

I have been awake since then. Oh my gosh this sucks!!!! There is no given reason for me to be up at this time of the morning. But I can't go back to sleep. I laid in bed for about an hour before giving up and coming down to do what all people who can't sleep do. Yup surf the internet. But hey I have been productive. Paid all my bills for the pay period. Read stupidity on my boards that I go to. Downloaded pictures off my camera. Looked at my email and now I am here. Might go play a game or two after this. Still have hope that I will get that sleepy feeling back and go back to bed. I have even had a snack cause the tummy was hungry. Just pretzels nothing else looked yummy. Oh well at least I have nothing on my plate for this lovely rainy Friday except lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and picking up photos at Walmart. So it is all good. I am thanking my lucky stars that I don't work. Cause it would really suck if I worked and couldn't sleep.

Yesterday I woke up early also. But that was because I had a horrible dream involving waves and my husband's boat. Just think about the movie "The Perfect Storm" and you will get the picture of my dream. Not the joyous fishing parts but the end with giant waves and boats doing things they shouldn't do. Oh yeah and I have to remember to thank my friend that I am going to lunch with today. Cause the book she loaned me is not turning out well for a pregnant hormonal girl. It is called "The Rescue" and well so far mom and son were driving swerved to miss a deer in the road, crashed into a tree, mom on way to hospital and little boy missing. But he doesn't understand language and can't talk at 4 1/2 years of age so who knows how it will turn out. Oh and they crashed into a swamp. Hoping there is a happy ending and I just haven't reached it yet. But I am only on chapter 4.

I also have something new living in my house. Besides the giant fly that loves to hang out where ever I am I now have a huge gecko living in my spare bathroom upstairs. Yup found him on Tuesday hanging out on my picture frame that is in there. Then he moved to behind the koa bowl that sits on the counter. Then he disappeared. Well Wednesday night he showed up again. Only it wasn't in a good place. I learned to never pick a book up off the bathroom counter in the dark with reptiles living in your bathroom. Yup he had come out from where ever he was hiding and crawled into the book between the pages and the back or front cover. Not sure which cause the lights were off. I about pee'd my pants. The cover felt funny so I stuck my hand in it and touched something not book like. It was the gecko. Got him out of the book and into something else. Didn't kill him cause gecko's are good. We like geckos cause they eat the other icky bugs. Haven't seen him since the great book problem. But I am sure he will pop up again and freak me out.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Stay warm out there. I know that might be hard but try. I will think of all of you that are having snow and ice storms. One of these days I will know where I am moving and it will probably be somewhere that has really cold stuff like that.

So hubby is officially gone. He has been for almost a week. So far so good. Day one sucked big time but hey it always does. Now comes the people asking what are you doing for Christmas. Answer nothing. It is just another day when you are older and not near family and have no small children. Which for 3 out of 3 I fit all of them. I have a small turkey breast that if I decide to not take anyone up on offers of dinner with their families I will cook. Other than that it will be a day like any other of my days. Get up take a shower, get dressed, do some sewing or other craft type item (whatever in the mood for), have lunch, take a nap, watch some tv, eat dinner and then off to bed. Wooo. Throw in calling families early for me but on the late side for them and then the day is complete. Not being a bam humbug but making the day pass in the easiest way possible for me. Having never spent the day without family of any kind before I'm such not sure how I will feel about it when the day actually gets here. Does it bother me? Yes a little bit but next year is much more important to me.

Other than that nothing really exciting going on here. For the past couple of days we have had lots of rain and really high winds. Let me tell you it sucks. Not as bad as Oregon and other places. But when you are on a rock in the middle of the ocean and high winds come it feels like your house is going to blow away. Tuesday I so felt like my house was going to blow straight down to Pearl Harbor. Then the rain started in. It was like blowing in all directions that led straight to my house no matter what. But I pulled thru and slept thru some of it.

Hope everyone is having a great week. One more day and then I will have the weekend to get thru. Here's hoping it goes by fast for me. Weekends are the worst when he is gone.

Hehehe sorry couldn't help myself. Had the big ultrasound on Monday and well we are waiting till Christmas to tell anyone what the sex of the baby is. We found these really cool frames to give the grandparents and so that is when the big unveiling is.

Of course they are all thinking that the baby is really stubborn right now cause of the email update that I sent out but oh well. It will be a nice surprise for them.

Baby is looking average and good in all points of his/her life right now. We had a really nice time with our ultrasound. Took almost an hour for baby to cooperate and the tech to get all the shoots that she needed to get. No deformities that were to be seen at this point.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a nice weekend with just the 2 of us mainly. DH leaves soon and won't be home till after our anniversary. Oh well. At least he'll be home in April and that is more important.

I must stop going out in public around here. I swear every time we go somewhere we are surrounded by stupid people.

Yesterday we went to Sports Authority to buy a poker table. Great deal no stupid people and it was fast and painless. So DH wants a slurpee from 7-11. He loves these things and they are remodeling the one down the street from our house so the next closest one is about a 5 minute drive from the house. So he only gets them now if we are driving by a 7-11. I know weird but hey he is happy. So we stop at the first 7-11 after the sports authority and get out and go inside. Now in this one all the drinks things are in the back corner of the store and I'm not talking a big corner. Well smart layout would be all the drink type machines next to each other with cups on one end of the set up. Yeah not at this one. Let's put the slurpee machines here and then the cups right at the corner of the wall and then the other soda fountain. So if you want a cup you have to crowd into the corner and then get out of the way quickly so that others can get a cup. Well low and behold there is another couple getting drinks of some sort. Well male part of couple has his drink and is not helping female part of couple with whatever the hell she is dinking with. Turns out she is trying to separate a cup holder while standing right in front of all the cups and has no drinks as of yet. Only 2 empty slurpee cups. Do you think that she moves out of the way of the cups? Oh no why would you want to do that. So we reach around her to get cups and lids, spill lids on floor as she stands and stares at us. We have our cups and get our slurpees and she is still standing right in front of the cups. Now moving on to pay. They sell this thing out here everywhere called spam musbi. Bascially it is a block of rice with a slice of spam on top wrapped in seaweed and then in plastic wrap. Well this case is right by the front counter cause they are sold hot. Whatever. Well we think that the person digging thru the case is in line to pay because that is how close the hot case is to the register. So we line up behind the Samoan gentleman who looks to be standing in line behind the blond woman digging in the musbi case. Yeah neither one of these people is in line. The Samoan is wanting to get his musbi and the other lady is taking everyone of them out of the case for some reason. Not sure why cause we got around them paid and got out of there. Amazingly we run into stuff like that everytime we go somewhere. The best is the ones that are at all the mall and stop with their kids in strollers to adjust the child in some way but do it smack in the middle of the walkway instead of moving to one side or the other of the aisle or up just a bit to the big corner spot.

Ah life on the rock! I hope everyone is ready for the big day this week. My turkey is out and thawing. The ham is out and thawing across the street. Everything else is bought and standing by to cook. Yippee!!

So someone (froggy) keeps sending me messages thru xanga. Well I found 3 of them today. Yeah they were all from like September. Does that show you how often I look there for messages. Hehehehe

This past weekend was great. Saturday we went to a baby expo. Came home with all kinds of free stuff and just amazed at all the things there. After that we went to Hooter's for chicken wings cause that is really the only place on this island to get good chicken wings. Then came home and took a nap. Well tried to anyways. Neighbors came over and then wouldn't go away. After they left it was time to get dressed for the dinner we had to go to. I tried on 3 different tops with the skirt that I had before I was happy. Man did that suck. First shirt that I planned on wearing made me look kinda like a hippy child. The second shirt was the wrong color for the skirt that I had on. The third shirt fits now but give it 2 weeks and it won't fit anymore. Yup that is the stage I am at right now. Some things fit still but others don't fit yet.

Went to our dinner with the neighbors across the way. The dinner and ceremony were over and I was ready to go home. Well we drove the neighbors but she wasn't ready to leave. So made sure that they had a ride and home we came. My legs hurt so bad that I couldn't fall asleep. It sucked!! Went to sleep eventally only to be waken by the cat who was hungry at 7am. Oh well it was a nice night. Found out the next day that neighbor girl got so drunk that she fell on the dance floor and everyone saw her undies. Lets just be glad she had undies on. But before we left lots of people saw her boobs. She doesn't drink heavily often but when she does well the clothes come off and she seems to like women better than men. Now this dinner was an official function for the husband's jobs. But her husband doesn't see anything wrong with this in public. Maybe cause he is drunk as well. The last time we saw them like this was last year at a party that started at our house and ended at their house. It was one of the last ones that we ever hosted. Just cause we didn't want to see that anymore.

So Sunday was uneventful compared to Saturday. Sat around in our pj's for most of the day. Then went over to another friends house for a poker game that my DH ended up winning. Yeah!!

Next weekend we are going to a bay store that is having a sale. We will see if anything good is on sale. You never know what we might or might not come home with. Maybe I can talk DH into chicken wings again. I'm sure that won't be to hard.

So Halloween has come and gone again. We had one trick or treater. DH was so upset. But that is what happens when you live up on top of the hill and there are only 9 houses on your street and your side only has 4 of the 3 plexes full and only 2 have kids and the other end all takes their kids else where. So he took the bag of candy into the boat and let them have it all. Maybe next year when we live in a new house and a new state Halloween will be better for him. Of course he wants to take baby out trick or treating next year. I say no. The following year yes. Next year no.

Talked to MIL yesterday who asks so when is your next appointment. Next month some time. Have to make it after the ultrasound at the end of the month. She says your having another ultrasound? Yes this is the main one. Oh why so many. I swear sometimes she doesn't think. The first one was to see that yes I was pregnant and there is only one baby there. The second was cause we didn't hear the heartbeat and to make sure all was good with baby. Now will be this one. I am sure that this will be the last one. But come on it took 12 years to do this and by crackie they are watching a little more close. I am not complaining at all. In fact it is quite nice to get more than just one and to see baby all those times. I swear she doesn't think sometimes. Drives me nuts!!!!!

Other than that all is well out here. Had some really hard rain on Saturday night. It was insane. It rained so hard that it woke us up several times. Then there was the thunder and lightining. Which has happened only once before that since we have been here. So cat is freaking out. I can't stay asleep and hubby keeps waking up. Then Sunday we get up and it is still raining till about 9ish. Then it stops for the whole day. When does it start up with the freaking coming down monsoon type rain? 7pm!!! Just as the football game ends and amazing race starts. Thunder, lightining and hard monsoon type rain. So we had to turn the tv all most all the way up while it rained just to hear it. All is well till about 9:55pm then the cable and interenet go out. So do I have any idea how Shark ends? NOPE!!! It also looks like we will get more today.

So we had a doctor's appointment on Monday. It was great. We heard the heartbeat for a few seconds. Only because this is a stubborn child and was hiding down by my right hip. Then when we found it the baby moved cause we couldn't find it again. So much fun. Then the doctor asked me why I didn't tell her my tb test was positive. Well cause when I retested 2 weeks later it was negative and I watched the nurse enter it into the computer as negative!!! But she was all "mad" about that. Well when they tell me I am negative and that I don't need to say anything I don't!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever! Ultrasound is scheduled for the Monday after Thanksgiving. Still riding the fence on finding out. DH is not. He wants to know now. So we shall see.

Other than that all I have been doing since getting home is cleaning. Today is floor day. Sweeping and mopping. Oh how fun for me! NOT!!

Let me just say that even though I had a great visit with my family and his family it is oh so nice to be home. Even though that means I have like 4 loads of laundry and have to clean out the fridge and run the dishwasher and everything else I would have done before I left had we left at the same time. Ah men!!! But I am home. Left with 2 suitcases to my parents that were full of my clothes and gifts for people in California and left California with 1 suitcase full of clothes and one half full of baby items to go to New Jersey. Got to New Jersey with the 2 suitcases being joined by 2 more suitcases one of which was full of presents for the kids there and left with 4 suitcases full to the brim of stuff for baby as well as our clothes.

If I hear his mother says one more time "It's to early to buy things for the baby" and then buy the baby something I might just scream. Every baby store we went into she bought all 3 (one not born yet) of her grandchildren something to use or wear or play with. I didn't buy anything but did register so that people will know what we need. Did buy maternity clothes cause well fat people don't have anything to wear out here that isn't a fortune.

Got lots of sewing done at my mom's. Also left a lot of sewing stuff cut out for her to sew for baby. So all is well. Now to unpack and do all the other fun stuff that comes with coming home from vacation.

Everything is packed. Just need to package some snacks and get hubby to bring the bags dowstairs. Drop off the key and such with the neighbor and clean up the house a little today then it will be off on my adventure. Oh my. Excited and a little stressed out about it all at the same time. This time tomorrow I will be in California!!!! Yeah!!! Here's hoping I get some sleep on the plane tonight. If not the person sitting next to me is not going to be happy.
